Getting to know me
My name is Dr. Rebecca Hicks. I am a family physician practicing in Toronto and this year it is my honour and privilege to be the president of the Ontario Medical Association. This blog represents an opportunity for me to share my incredible experiences as president with the doctors of Ontario and with the public.
As physicians, we are called upon to see the humanity in each of our patients, to view them as a whole person and not just their symptoms or diagnosis. I hope that this blog can offer the same opportunity for others to see doctors as whole people, with challenges and successes just as anyone else might have.
Please join me on my journey across Ontario to learn about how the doctors of Ontario are helping patients stay healthy. We will explore new places, amazing people, and discuss the challenges doctors and patients are facing across the province. Let’s all buckle up and enjoy the ride.
